I remember the days spent in the practice room of my high school vocal music program feeling like I was not good enough. I was always spending my favorite part of the day, my music classes, in competition with my peers. I felt like it was a never-ending battle to get the recognition I so desperately wanted. I knew I was just as capable as the top musicians that I was put up against, but I always fell a bit short to the competition.

Despite the constant uphill climb, I worked hard. Within me was a burning passion for music, a love of creating beautiful sounds whether it be using my voice or playing my violin. Even when I didn’t get the solos or I chose not to take the opportunities presented to me, I continued. There were many lessons where I cried, masterclasses that I could barely sing through, and juries that I wish had gone better. Yet I never gave up on my goal.

As time went on, some things just started shifting in my life. Slowly, all of my manifestations started to come into fruition. I received my BME in Special Music Education and eventually I received my MME in Special Music Education. I started to step into my true purpose, becoming who I’ve always aspired to be, realizing that every step along the way has built me into the strong badass woman that I am today. Since my days at music school, I have participated in several operas, performed with local orchestras, and served my local community as a musician and educator. I also completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in June of 2023, which completely transformed my spiritual journey.

Although this story may be unique to my experience, these shifts can happen in all our lives, and sometimes in unexplainable ways. This is when we can turn to astrology to understand the changes in our lives.

I first started studying astrology when I was an undecided undergraduate student in 2015. Astrology has been my key towards self-actualization. Through astrology, I have opened the door to my inner self. I have learned more about my past and where my present actions could lead me. Since then, I have spent some time working within the astrology community. In 2022, I was a recipient of the Northwest Astrological Conference Diversity scholarship. I am also a current member of the Association for Young Astrologers.

My educational focus in college and throughout my teaching has been related to accommodations for all learners within the music education setting, and how we can integrate all learners to find success in music at any level. This focus has transformed into my practice of Astromusicality, which explores the inner musician on a deeper spiritual level, exploring the depths of the self through astrology and music.

Astromusicality was created to serve musicians and astrologers of all levels, providing an educational and musical space for clarity, self-discovery, healing, and creative exploration.
